TAP Promotion Act
Military members preparing to leave the armed forces will receive a standardized, one-hour briefing about available Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) benefits. Approved veterans service organizations can participate in these sessions to explain how they help troops file benefit and disability claims before discharge. Presenters are prohibited from recruiting service members to join any particular organization, and the VA must track attendance and report to Congress annually.
