TRANSPORT Jobs Act
This bill directs the Department of Transportation to establish an action plan aimed at helping transitioning military service members and veterans secure jobs in logistics and shipping. Under this plan, federal agencies must pinpoint hiring barriers, highlight how military training translates to transportation work, and recommend specific ways to ease the employment process for both veterans and employers. By consulting with industry representatives and labor groups, the initiative seeks to fill supply chain workforce shortages across the country.
The provisions, in plain language.
Within 30 days of the bill's signing, the Secretary of Transportation must develop and publish the "Veteran to Supply Chain Employee Action Plan" to help veterans and transitioning service members find, train for, and keep supply chain jobs.
